Guitarclimb ("the App") is developed by Guitar Climb LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how the App works.

Information We Collect

Account Information (optional)

If you choose to create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used for account creation, sign-in, and account recovery

• Name — if provided through Sign in with Apple (Apple may hide your real email and provide a relay address — we respect this choice)

Creating an account is optional. You can use the app without signing in, and all features work fully without an account.

Practice Activity Data (if signed in)

If you sign in, the following data is synced to our secure cloud servers to enable cross-device access:

• Practice session timestamps and durations

• Which features you used (e.g., Tuner, Scale Library, Metronome)

• Feature-specific context (e.g., which key or scale you were practicing)

• Streak and progress statistics

This data is used solely to provide you with your practice history and progress tracking across your devices. It is never shared with third parties or used for advertising purposes.

If you do not sign in, all practice data remains stored locally on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

App Preferences (if signed in)

Your app settings (appearance mode, tuner preferences, display options) are synced to our servers if you are signed in, allowing your settings to follow you across devices.

Information We Collect for Marketing (with your consent)

If you opt in to our mailing list (via our website or in-app prompts), we collect:

• Email address — used to send product updates, tips, and promotional offers

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect your app account.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Microphone Access
Guitarclimb requests access to your device's microphone for the sole purpose of detecting the pitch of your guitar strings in real time. This enables the tuner feature to help you tune your instrument accurately.

Audio from the microphone is processed entirely on your device. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. The audio data exists only in temporary memory during active use of the tuner and is discarded immediately when you navigate away from the tuner.

You can revoke microphone access at any time through your device's Settings app. The tuner feature will not function without microphone access, but all other features of the App will continue to work normally.

Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms:

• App preferences: Your settings choices such as appearance mode, default tuning, reference pitch, and display preferences.
• Practice activity: Session timestamps and durations used to display your practice streaks and progress statistics. This data never leaves your device.
• Subscription status: Your subscription state is managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do independently track or store subscription information.

Data Storage and Security

Account data and synced practice data are stored on servers provided by Supabase (supabase.com), hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Your practice data is protected by row-level security policies, meaning only you can access your own data — even we cannot view individual user practice sessions without explicit database access for support purposes.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by:

• Or signing out of the app and requesting account deletion through Settings

Upon account deletion, all your practice data, preferences, and profile information are permanently removed from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

Deleting the app from your device removes all locally stored data.

Subscriptions and Payments
Guitarclimb offers auto-renewable subscriptions managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process payments directly and do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.

Subscription management, including cancellation, is handled through your Apple ID settings. For details on how Apple handles your payment data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy at https://www.apple.com/privacy/.

Children's Privacy
Guitarclimb does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require an account, does not collect personal data, and does not include advertising or social features.

Third-Party Services

The app integrates with the following third-party services:

• Apple StoreKit — for subscription management and payment processing. We do not have access to your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

• Supabase — for user authentication and cloud data storage. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

• Apple Sign in with Apple — for authentication. Apple may provide us with a relay email address instead of your real email, per your preference.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
